Person Entering the Welcome Center Front Door

Our Welcome Center is open and many of our businesses are operating as usual. However some of natural areas, attractions and our businesses did suffer damage during Tropical Storm Chantal, particulary in the Eastgate Shopping Center and University Place. Before visiting any business, greenways and attractions, we encourage you to contact them directly or check their social media pages first.

Chapel Hill & Orange County Restaurants

Is there a secret ingredient? You bet!   Here, local favorites are world-renowned chefs. And memorable meals are standard fare.

Chapel Hill (and the surrounding communities of Carrboro and Hillsborough) play a huge part in the HOT culinary scene of the Triangle. Our chefs, restaurants and breweries are recognized by notable food culture magazines such as Food & Wine, The Local Palate, Atlanta Magazine, Eater Carolinas, and more. Experience an eclectic mix of food styles and cultures ranging from the Southern country cooking at famed Mama Dip's and Time-Out Restaurant to James Beard award winner Andrea Reusing, Chef of the Asian flavors served up at Lantern. Savor the flavor at one of our farm to table restaurants, progressive American, pit-cooked BBQ, authentic cuisines from the Middle East and the Mediterranean, fresh mesquite and charcoal grilled seafood, contemporary Italian, and so much more.
